How do you know emissions benefits will be achieved?
USPowerGen will commit to enforceable permit limitations and conditions to ensure the predicted environmental benefits are achieved from the Project. USPowerGen is exploring a range of measures, including permit restrictions on the new generating units, the use of biofuels in the existing generating units, mitigation of existing sources of emissions in Astoria, and reducing permitted emission limits on the existing generating units to ensure that a reduction of actual net emissions for CO, NOx, PM10, PM2.5, SOx, and CO2 is achieved.
