What environmental benefits are expected?

USPowerGen has completed initial modeling of the New York City electrical grid to project expected operation of the new unit(s) and the effect of the Project on the existing electric grid system. This model was used to predict the environmental benefits associated with reducing existing operations. Initial results indicate that the Project will result in lower emissions of all major pollutants, including Nitrogen Oxides (NO_x), Sulfur Oxides (SO_x), Particulate Matter (PM₁₀, PM_2.5), and Carbon Dioxide (CO₂). USPowerGen is committed to creating a net positive environmental impact and will develop a final strategy to ensure environmental benefits as part of the environmental review and permitting process.
