Mystic 8&9 Station
Mystic 8&9 are natural gas fired combined-cycle intermediate load power plants that in aggregate can produce a nominal 1,602 MW of electricity.They are located on a 53 acre site that they share with Mystic 7 Generating Station in Everett, Massachusetts, abutting the Mystic River, directly north of Boston. Mystic 8&9 enjoy low cost firm natural gas supply and transportation arrangements and a strategic location within the transmission-constrained Boston load pocket. Mystic 8&9 are connected to the liquefied natural gas import facilities owned by Distrigas by a dedicated, high pressure pipeline and are interconnected with the NSTAR electric power transmission grid served by the Boston area.
